Roberta Tagliavini, owner of the Art Gallery "Robertaebasta" in Via Fiori Chiari n 2 (Milan), has been working since 1967 in the antiques sector with specialization in the decorative arts of the 20th Century. Thanks to her expertise in the sector, she works as an appraiser at important events; she has also been a member of the Provincial Art Merchants Union of Milan since 1983. In January 1994 she was elected a full member of the FIMA (Sindacato Provinciale Mercanti d'Arte Milano) of which she later became Treasurer. She was deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine Arte Viva, a category magazine on art. The Robertaebasta Gallery was invited to participate in 1986 in the international exhibition in New York, where she was a huge success that continues to this day. In fact, the American clientele has multiplied, including architects, interior designers and merchants.
This experience paved the way for Europe first, and the rest of the world afterwards. So much so that in 1994 the Gallery was invited to the International Exhibition in Basel, TEFAF (The European Art Foundation), a very selective and prestigious exhibition. The important resonance that followed the Tefaf opened up to Robertaebasta also the German and Swiss markets, notoriously skeptical markets that the Gallery has conquered with extreme professionalism. In addition to offering documentation of the objects sold, Robertaebasta guarantees every single piece for life.
In addition, it offers all types of customer assistance, including: transport, assembly, restoration, upholstery.
The care for the customer is such that the Gallery is not only limited to the insertion of the historical piece but can concern, when required, a complete restyling of the house through the study of pieces to design and custom made by the Gallery itself. These pieces will have a stylistically coherent and appropriate imprint for the person and the house in which they will be placed. Since 1994 the management has been entrusted to Mr. M. M. Martinelli, son of Mrs. Robarta Tagliavini and President of the Associazione Commercianti di Via Fiori Chiari. Mr. Martinelli, with youthful enthusiasm, has enlarged the gallery in Via Fiori Chiari 2 and acquired new spaces such as the galleries in Via Fiori Chiari 3, Via Fiori Chiari 16 and P.zza Formentini 4/6.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Associazione Antiquari di Brera.
Since 1967 the Robertaebasta Gallery has been researching, selecting and offering its customers: furniture, furnishings, accessories and paintings, all very rare and unique pieces created in the 20th century specializing in Italian and French Art Deco, in recent years two other large stores have been opened specializing in Design and Modernism, to offer a total vision of the century.
