Now in its fourth iteration the Miu Miu Literary Club – conceived and directed by Miuccia Prada - returns as a space for dialogue and critical thinking, building a bridge between great literature and our times. After Writing Life and A Woman’s Education, the Miu Miu Literary Club has chosen “Politics of Desire” as its main theme, fostering a discourse on sexuality, desire and consent. As for the past editions, the event aims to further strengthen Miu Miu’s dialogue with contemporary culture from the personal to the political, and from literature to life.
This fourth edition centres on two works by masters of writing: Annie Ernaux, 2022 Nobel Prize winner for Literature, and Ama Ata Aidoo, one of the most authoritative figures in African literature and an icon of post-colonial feminist thought. In this new chapter, the conversations confront the political nature of desire: not merely a private impulse or an emotional tension, but a force that determines the right to exercise self-determination. When desire breaks through the patterns imposed by society, it ceases to be an intimate matter and becomes an act of resistance.
This edition will also feature for the first time a “Curated Library” for consultation and inspiration. Designed by feminist philosopher Rosi Braidotti, the project promotes access to learning as a means of empowerment, celebrating women’s stories in order to cultivate awareness and motivate change.
For 2026, the Literary Club introduces an additional day of programming, open to the public on April 24th. On the event’s final day, the space will be transformed into a reading room where visitors can either stay to enjoy reading or explore Braidotti’s curated collection.
